Glénan archipelago: discovery and activities

This sumptuous archipelago of translucent blue waters and white sand is reminiscent of a postcard setting. A must-see in Brittany! Ideal for escaping to a haven of peace reminiscent of the exotic Maldives.

The islands

7 main islands surround the lagoon known as “La Chambre”. These are Saint-Nicolas, Penfret, Loch, Cigogne, Drennec, Bananec and Guéotec. The island of Saint-Nicolas, equipped with a slipway, is the main destination for shuttle service providers. Here you’ll find 2 bars/restaurants, the CIP diving center and a few houses.

The nautical center

The Glénan nautical center is Europe’s largest sailing school, with 14,000 trainees and 860 instructors every year. It is spread over several islands in the archipelago. Some of the world’s greatest sailors have been trainees or instructors here.

Glénan narcissus

The Glénan narcissus is a highly protected flower, found nowhere else in the world. It grows mainly on the island of Saint-Nicolas, but a few plants can be found on neighboring islands.

The diving center

The exceptional site of theGlénan archipelago, with its 5,000 hectares of rocky massifs in translucent waters, is a great place for divers to explore.
